C5 Spotting Scope
The Celestron C5 spotting scope is an f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain system with 127 mm (5 inch) aperture and 1250 mm effective focal length. NASA has used it on many previous space shuttle flights because of its optical quality.

It is an ideal device for serious birdwatchers or nature lovers who want to enjoy breathtaking views - whether just in the garden or in the wild. But the Celestron C5 is also an excellent astronomical telescope because it is designed and built to the same high standards as all Celestron astronomical Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.

Weighing less than 3 kg and only 33 cm long, the C5 is a solidly built and totally portable instrument for visual and photographic use that performs flawlessly in any situation. The close focus up to 6.1 m facilitates the observation of plants, small animals, birds or insects. This makes the Celestron C5 the ideal spotting scope when a bright and powerful instrument with a brilliant and razor-sharp image is required for continuous use.

Photographic use could not be easier than when the C5 is transformed from a powerful spotting scope into a high-quality 1250 mm telephoto lens with a speed of 1:10: All you have to do is attach a separately available T-adapter and T-ring for your 35 mm SLR camera to the back of the C5, and professional-quality photos are possible with your C5.
