Powerful and weather-resistant telephoto zoom lens for the PENTAX 35 mm full-frame SLR system
Compact and lightweight - telephoto zoom lens for universal use
The lens design, with a total of 20 elements in 14 groups, includes three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and two anomalous dispersion glass elements. This compensates for distortions, coma and chromatic aberrations and creates the conditions for high-contrast images with high resolution and sharpness right to the edge of the image. Thanks to the internal focusing, the overall length of the lens barrel remains constant, which significantly simplifies handling in many shooting situations. The minimum focusing distance of just 0.95 meters, with a magnification factor of 0.32, also opens up many possibilities for interesting close-ups, e.g. of animals and plants, with a beautiful bokeh effect (defocusing) in the foreground and background.

Fast focus thanks to SDM motor
The new HD PENTAX-D FA 70-210 mm F4 ED SDM WR telephoto zoom lens is equipped with the latest generation Supersonic Direct Drive (SDM). In conjunction with the cameras designed for it, such as the PENTAX K-1 Mark II, it enables fast and almost silent focusing to capture every exciting moment.
The Lens is also equipped with a two-stage focus range limiter, which can be used to restrict the focus range and thus shorten the focusing time.

F4 input aperture for perfect image composition
The constant aperture of F4 as input aperture not only simplifies exposure control, but also offers many possibilities in image composition.
The round aperture of 9 blades creates an image in which point light sources appear to be enveloped by soft, circular light. Even with normal subjects, this creates a natural bokeh effect in the background and the highlights are displayed as beautifully blurred and perfectly round points of light, which is an impressive compositional tool not only for portrait shots.

Weather-resistant construction
This telephoto zoom lens, developed as a WR (Weather Resistant) model, has a weather-resistant construction with seven special sealing rings that effectively prevent the ingress of dust and moisture. Together with a weather-resistant PENTAX digital SLR camera, the lens forms a reliable shooting system that delivers outstanding performance even in difficult outdoor conditions, such as rain or fog.

Lens coating for high brilliance
The HD PENTAX-D FA 70-210 mm F4 ED SDM WR is equipped with the latest HD (High Definition) coating. Compared to conventional multi-layer coatings, this coating, developed exclusively by PENTAX, not only improves light transmission, but also reduces the average degree of reflection in the visible light range by more than 50 percent. This minimizes the negative effects of stray light and ghost images.

Protection against dirt
The SP lens coating (Super Protect), also developed by PENTAX, with a special fluorine coating on the front lens is extremely water, grease and dirt repellent, so that outdoor photographers in particular can concentrate on their motifs in nature without any worries. And if stains do occur, for example from fingerprints, they can be easily removed.

Manual focus despite autofocus
The user-friendly quick-shift focus system allows you to switch effortlessly from autofocus to manual focus without having to switch. For a particularly fine focus adjustment or to correct the autofocus, simply turn the focus ring during AF operation and it will immediately switch to manual focus mode.

Perfect and quiet aperture control
The HD PENTAX-D FA 70-210 mm F4 ED SDM WR is equipped with a KAF4 bayonet that features electromagnetic aperture control. In contrast to mechanical control, where the aperture is controlled by the camera body, the drive motor is integrated as a unit in the lens barrel. This ensures extremely precise aperture control with low operating noise, quiet operation and minimal vibrations, which is not only beneficial for video recordings.

Shortestshooting distance of 0.95 meters
The minimum focusing distance of just 0.95 meters, with a magnification factor of 0.32x (0.48 when used on a camera with an APS-C sensor), also opens up many possibilities for interesting close-ups, e.g. of animals and plants with a magnification factor of 0.32x (0.48 when used on a camera with an APS-C sensor). The HD PENTAX-D FA 70-210 mm F4 ED SDM WR is equipped with the latest HD (High Definition) coating.
